Rockies Fall To Diamondbacks, Below .500

The Colorado Rockies slide continues. The Rockies dipped below the .500 mark with a 6-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks in Denver last night, their sixth loss in their last seven games. The Rockies never led in the game, as Miguel Montero and Kelly Johnson homered for Arizona in their winning effort. Down 4-1 in the seventh inning, the Rockies rallied to within a run on a Jason Giambi sac fly and a pinch-hit RBI single from Ryan Spilborghs, but Johnson’s two-run homer in the ninth inning put the game out of reach. The Rockies have lost 22 of their last 32 games since a 12-3 start and remain three games out of first place in the NL West. Tonight the St. Louis Cardinals come to Denver to begin a three-game weekend series. Ubaldo Jimenez will try and earn his first win of the year and stop the Rockies’ skid. ESPN Radio 1410 has the action tonight with pregame coverage at 7:05 and the first pitch at 7:40.
