TECUMSEH, Neb. (AP) – A Tecumseh state prison guard has been found not guilty by a Johnson County jury of sexually assaulting a12-year-old girl. The Beatrice Daily Sun reports that the jury heard testimony for two days last month before deeming 28-year-old Donald Hardy of Sterling not guilty. Hardy had faced two felony counts: first- and third-degree sexual assault of a child. Prosecutors had said the charges stemmed from incidents in July through August of 2010. Hardy had faced a maximum prison sentence of life in prison. A message left Wednesday by The Associated Press for prison officials was not immediately returned.
