The brand new Lincoln County Jail got a little soggy Saturday night when a sprinkler malfunctioned, spraying water for about 45 minutes and partially flooding one section of the jail. North Platte Fire Department Captain Jeff Hanka said the department lacked the tools necessary to manually turn off the sprinkler head and had to call in the manufacturer to shut off the water. Inmates helped to sweep water into the drains. Hanka said no serious damage was done to the building.
