Rockies Lose Fifteenth Straight Sunday Game

The Sunday losing streak has reached 15 for the Colorado Rockies. They lost yet another Sunday game, and a chance at a sweep, to the San Diego Padres by an 8-3 score yesterday afternoon in San Diego. The Rockies led 3-2 entering the eighth inning, but relievers Rex Brothers and Matt Belisle gave up six runs in the bottom half to lead to the loss. The bullpen meltdown wiped out seven strong innings from starting pitcher Juan Nicasio, who struck out a career-high 10 but had to settle for the no-decision. Troy Tulowitzki drove in a pair of runs to lead the Rockies offensively. The Rockies end their nine-game Western road swing with a 4-5 record. They’re back home in Denver tonight to start a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies. ESPN Radio 1410 has the action tonight with pregame coverage at 7:05 and the first pitch at 7:40.
