Rockies Blanked By Phillies

Kyle Kendrick may not be one of the Philadelphia Phillies ‘Big Four’ starting pitchers, but he looked like one against an impotent Colorado Rockies lineup last night. Kendrick tossed eight shutout innings, striking out seven, and Ryan Howard homered twice as the Phillies blanked the Rockies 5-0 at Coors Field. The Rockies managed just four hits on the night. Rockies starter Aaron Cook allowed four runs in four innings before leaving the game with neck spasms. Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki also left the game in the eighth inning with a bruised pinky finger. The Rockies have now lost three straight games. They hope to avoid a three-game sweep by the Phillies this afternoon at Coors Field. ESPN Radio 1410 has the action with pregame coverage starting at 1:30 and the first pitch at 2:10.
