2 new National Guard Reserve Centers open in Nebraska

COLUMBUS, Neb. (AP) – Officials have officially opened two new National Guard centers in Nebraska.  Ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held Friday for the facilities in McCook and Columbus. Gov. Dave Heineman was among the dignitaries in attendance.  The construction of the centers were a collaboration of the Nebraska Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve.  The McCook center replaces one built in 1962.  It will become home to the Guard’s 45-member Detachment 2, 1195th Transportation Company and the Reserve’s 48-member Detachment 1, 1013th
Quartermaster Company.  The Columbus center will replace the Guard’s current readiness center, which was built in 1956. It will become home to the Guard’s 87-member 1075th Transportation Company and the Reserve’s 45-person 45th Military Police.
