The Nebraska football team practiced in pads for the first time in fall camp yesterday afternoon, their fifth practice in preparation for the upcoming season. While the players were excited to put the pads on and hit, Huskers head coach Bo Pelini felt some of the execution on the day was lacking. “Today, on all sides of the football, we didn’t play up to our standards,” Pelini said. “I didn’t like today; I’ve liked everything up to today. Hopefully we take today as a learning experience. There was just too much inconsistency.” Offensive linemen Jeremiah Sirles and Marcel Jones and tight end Kyler Reed sat out practice with minor injuries.
