The Colorado Rockies’ Sunday losing streak is over. The Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 at Coors Field yesterday, their first win after a major league record seventeen consecutive Sunday losses. The victory also gives the Rockies back to back series wins for the first time since mid-July. The Rockies had just three hits in the game, but two of them left the park – a two-run home run by Carlos Gonzalez in the first inning opened the scoring, and a two-run blast by Seth Smith in the seventh inning gave the Rockies the lead for good. Kevin Millwood pitched seven innings for his first win in a Rockies uniform. Tonight the Rockies open up a three-game series in Denver against the Houston Astros. ESPN Radio 1410 has the action with pregame coverage at 7:05 and the first pitch at 7:40.
