Rockies Lose Sixth Straight at Home

The final week-long homestand of the season was supposed to be Fan Appreciation Week for the Colorado Rockies. Forgive the fans if they’re less appreciative of bearing witness to the team’s longest losing streak of the season, which reached six last night after a 2-1 loss to the San Diego Padres. The Rockies didn’t score until Jordan Pacheco’s RBI single in the ninth inning drew them within a run, but Padres closer Heath Bell finished off the game to send the Rox to defeat. Jhoulys Chacin took the loss on the mound but pitched well, allowing two runs, one earned, in six innings. The Rockies play their last home game this afternoon, with Aaron Cook getting the start against San Diego’s Anthony Bass. ESPN Radio 1410 has the action, with pregame coverage at 1:30 and the first pitch set for 2:10.
