The Nebraska volleyball team opened their Big Ten season in style. In their inaugural Big Ten conference match, the tenth-ranked Huskers held off the fifth-ranked and four-time defending national champion Penn State Nittany Lions in five sets at the NU Coliseum. Nebraska took the first two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-16, but Penn State battled back to win set three 25-23 and set four 25-19. In the fifth set, the Huskers put the match away 15-10. Gina Mancuso led the Husker attack with 22 kills on the night. She also tallied 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Morgan Broekhuis also had a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. Nebraska improves their record to 8-1 on the season with the victory. The Huskers host 24th -ranked Ohio State on Saturday.
