Tri-City Storm goaltender Phoenix Copley was named the USHL’S Reebok Co-Goaltender of the Week for his performance in the Storm’s season-opening win on Friday night. In his Storm and USHL debut, Copley stopped 28 shots in a 1-0 victory over Sioux City at the Viaero Events Center in Kearney. The 19 year-old from North Pole, Alaska held the Musketeers scoreless on eight power play attempts and stopped two penalty shots to ensure that Heikki Liedes’ second-period goal stood up for a Storm victory. The Storm are on the road for a pair of games this weekend. Friday night they visit the defending Clark Cup Champion Dubuque Fighting Saints. Saturday, they play at the Des Moines Buccaneers.
