The best thing the Nebraska football team did with regards to their standing in the AP and USA Today coaches polls was not play on Saturday. Losses to higher-ranked teams meant the Huskers actually moved up in both polls – three spots to number 11 in the USA Today Coaches poll, and one spot to 13th in the AP poll. The Huskers also rank thirteenth in the first batch of BCS rankings, released last night. LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Boise State comprise the top five in the BCS in that order, with Wisconsin the highest ranked Big Ten team at sixth. The Huskers are 5-1, 1-1 in the Big Ten, and in a third-place tie in the Legends Division. They resume their season this coming Saturday with a trip to Minnesota to face the Golden Gophers, who are 1-5 on the season and 0-2 in the Big Ten.
