The predominant color of in-state college basketball is blue after Creighton topped Nebraska 77-66 in Omaha yesterday afternoon. The 22nd-ranked Jays went on an 11-0 run in the second half to pull away, sparked in part by controversial technical fouls called on Nebraska’s Toney McCray and coach Doc Sadler with 9:15 to play and the Huskers down by one. Bo Spencer scored a career high 29 points to lead the Huskers in the defeat. The Huskers drop to 4-3 on the season and host Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday night. In womens basketball, the Husker ladies improved to 7-1 by cruising past Texas-Pan American 65-27. Jordan Hooper led the way with 16 points. The Huskers held the Broncs to 20% shooting in the win. They return to the home floor for their own battle with Creighton Tuesday night.
