Woodhead TD Helps Patriots Expose Broncos

The Denver Broncos ran out of magic. Three turnovers dug too large a hole as the Broncos fell to the New England Patriots 41-23 in Denver yesterday. The Broncos fumbled three times in the second quarter, leading to 13 Patriots points and helping to turn a 16-7 lead into a 27-16 halftime deficit. North Platte’s Danny Woodhead scored on a 10-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter, part of a day that saw him gain 52 all-purpose yards. The Broncos did cut the Patriots lead to 11 points with eight and a half minutes left, but New England scored on their ensuing drive to put the game on ice. The Broncos drop to 8-6 on the season but remain alone in first place in the AFC West thanks to Oakland’s come-from-ahead home loss to Detroit. The Broncos travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills this Saturday.
