Huskers Women Back On Winning Track

The 20th-ranked Nebraska women’s basketball team snapped a two-game losing skid as they eased to a 64-49 victory over Minnesota at the Devaney Center yesterday. The Huskers led by just four late in the first half, until a 20-0 run that carried from the end of the first half through the first five minutes of the second half put the Huskers firmly in control of the contest. Despite shooting just 35 percent from the field, the Huskers won with help from their defense, which limited Minnesota to 33 percent shooting. Three Huskers scored in double figures, led by Jordan Hooper’s game-high 23 points. Emily Cady added 13 points and Hallie Sample chipped in 10 points. The Huskers move to 16-3 overall and 5-2 in Big Ten play with the victory. They’re back in action Thursday night, when they host Iowa.
