Nebraska freshman forward Emily Cady was named the Big Ten conference’s Freshman of the Week for her performance in games against Ohio State and Minnesota last week. Cady posted a career high 24 points in last Thursday’s loss at Ohio State. On Sunday, she scored 13 points and hauled in nine rebounds in the Huskers’ victory over the Golden Gophers. Cady is averaging 9.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this season. The former Seward standout is the first Husker to win the Big Ten freshman of the week honor and the third Husker to win a weekly conference honor this year.. The Huskers moved up one spot to 19^th overall in the latest AP Top 25 poll. They return to action on Thursday night, when they host Iowa. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:05 at the Devaney Center.
