Husker Baseball Picked By Big Ten Coaches For Fourth Place Finish

The Nebraska baseball team has been picked to finish fourth in their inaugural season in the Big Ten by the conference coaches. The Huskers, who return seven position starters and 17 lettermen from last season’s team, are pegged to finish behind defending conference champion Michigan State, Purdue, and Minnesota. Starting pitchers Tom Lemke and Travis Huber and first baseman Kash Kalkowski were selected by the coaches as Players to Watch for the Huskers. The Huskers finished 30-25 and 9-18 in their final year of Big 12 conference play. They fired coach Mike Anderson after the season and replaced him with former Husker two-sport star and Major League All-Star Darin Erstad. The Huskers open their season on the road this weekend with a three-game series against Gonzaga in Peoria, Arizona.
