The 23rd-ranked Nebraska women’s basketball team ran into red-hot shooting from Michigan State to open the game and was unable to recover in a 73-53 loss at the Breslin Center last night. Michigan State bolted out of the gates in the first half, as the Spartans jumped to a 43-22 halftime lead by making 62 percent of their shots and seven of their 12 three-point attempts. The Huskers were able to get as close as 10 points with 11 minutest o play in the game, but the Spartans pulled away from there. Jordan Hooper led the Huskers with 15 points and four rebounds, while Kaitlyn Burke added 13 points. With the loss, their fourth in five games, Nebraska slipped to 20-7 overall and 9-6 in the Big Ten. The Huskers host 8th-ranked Ohio State in their final regular season home game on Sunday.
