The 24th-ranked Nebraska women’s basketball team opened Big Ten Tournament play with a vengeance, taking a 31-point first half lead on their way to an 88-56 victory over Northwestern in Indianapolis yesterday afternoon. The Huskers went on an astonishing 32-3 run in the first half on their way to setting a conference tournament record with 54 points in the first 20 minutes. Jordan Hooper led the Huskers with 18 points in just 16 minutes of action. She surpassed the 1,000 career point plateau in the first half, becoming the first sophomore in program history to reach that mark. Lindsey Moore added 14 points to help the Big Red to victory.
