Opening Day is Here as Rockies Face Astros (LISTEN LIVE on ESPN Radio 1410)

The new-look Colorado Rockies finally open the 2012 regular season tonight, as they open up a three-game series in Houston against the Astros. After a disappointing 73-89 record in 2011, the Rockies rebuilt their roster with several trades and free agent acquisitions, and as a result will have five new starters in their Opening Day lineup tonight, including right fielder Michael Cuddyer, second baseman Marco Scutaro, catcher Ramon Hernandez, and starting pitcher Jeremy Guthrie. The Astros, who had the National League’s worst record last season, losing 106 games, counter with southpaw Wandy Rodriguez. Rockies baseball comes your way on ESPN Radio 1410 tonight. Pregame coverage gets underway at 5:30 with the first pitch from Minute Maid Park scheduled for 6:05.
