Keller, Huskers Hold Off Creighton

The Husker baseball team, led by a magnificent pitching performance from Jon Keller, claimed a 5-3 win over Creighton at Hawks Field last night. The sophomore right-hander went a career high eight innings to earn the victory, allowing two runs on four hits. Keller struck out six batters in earning his fourth win of the season. The Huskers did all their scoring in the third and fourth innings off of Blue Jay reliever Nick Musac. Kash Kalkowski singled in Rich Sanguinetti in the third to open the scoring, and the Huskers used four hits and an error to push across four more runs in the fourth, with Chad Christensen’s two-run single capping off the attack and providing the winning runs. The win moves the Huskers to 23-12 overall, while Creighton falls to 14-16. The Big Red visits Ohio State for a three-game series this weekend.
