Pelini Says Expect ‘Basic’ Schemes in Spring Game; Denies Interest in Arkansas Job

Spring practice continued for the Husker football team yesterday afternoon, as head coach Bo Pelini’s charges worked out in full pads outdoors. Pelini spoke to the media after the practice session and said not to expect anything too exotic from his offense or his defense in Saturday’s spring game. “We’re going to be as basic as you can get,” Pelini said. “We’re not going to be running our full game and stuff on either side of the football. It’s just going to be basic football, line up and play. We’re looking to be as basic as we can possibly be and still get a good evaluation of our guys and how they execute some of the base things.” Pelini also vigorously denied any interest in the newly vacant Arkansas job, calling Nebraska a ‘destination job’ and saying he’s happy to be in Lincoln. The Huskers’ practice today is their last one before the scrimmage Saturday.
