Carlos Gonzalez’s first two home runs of the season were wasted by a shabby bullpen performance as the Colorado Rockies fell 5-4 to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first game of their three-game series in Pittsburgh. Gonzalez’s second homer of the game gave the Rockies a 4-3 lead in the eighth inning, but the Pirates scored twice in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead back for good. Rockies relievers Rex Brothers and Matt Belisle allowed four runs in two innings to spoil a strong effort from starter Jamie Moyer, who allowed just one run in his six innings of work. The Rockies and Pirates wrap up their series with a doubleheader today. Game one gets underway at 11:35, with the second game, a rescheduling of Monday’s rainout, starting 30 minutes after the end of the first game. ESPN Radio 1410 has both games for you, with pregame coverage beginning at 11:05.
