Huskers Best Blue Jays Again

The Husker baseball team made it two for two against their in-state rivals with a 4-1 win over Creighton at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha last night. Eight Husker pitchers combined for a three-hitter, with Ryan Hander’s two scoreless frames starting the game and Travis Huber’s scoreless ninth earning him his seventh save of the season. The Big Red struck in the first inning with an RBI triple by Richard Stock, and tacked on another run in the second inning on an RBI single from Blake Headley. Creighton cut the deficit in half with a run in the sixth inning, but in the top of the eighth, a Rich Sanguinetti single scored a run, and an error on the play scored another to give the Huskers breathing room. Nebraska moves to 27-15 on the season with the victory. They open a three-game home series with Cal State Bakersfield Friday night.
