Storm Eliminated From Playoffs

A valiant comeback effort fell short for the second time in two nights, and the Tri-City Storm’s season is over. The Storm could not dig out of a three-goal first period hole in a 3-2 loss to the Waterloo Black Hawks in Game 2 of their best of three USHL playoff series. Kenny Brooks scored his first career playoff goal 33 seconds into the second period for the Storm to bring them to within 3-1, and then duplicated his scoring feat at the 2:17 mark of the third period to make it a one-goal game. But despite a scrambling effort late in the game, the Storm were unable to find the equalizing goal. Goaltender Adam Wilcox stopped 28 of 31 shots in the losing effort. The Storm are eliminated from the Clark Cup Playoffs with the loss, while Waterloo advances to take on the Omaha Lancers in the USHL’s Western Conference semifinals.
