The Husker baseball team fell behind early and never recovered in an 8-1 loss to Creighton last night at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha. Husker starting pitcher Tom Lemke allowed three runs in the first inning that would prove to be an opening act for a Blue Jay offensive assault that produced sixteen hits. Eight Blue Jay hurlers managed to scatter eight Husker hits, with an RBI single by Mike Pritchard in the third inning producing the Big Red’s only run. Pritchard extended his hitting streak to 25 games, which ties him for the third longest streak for a Husker since 1958, with his 4-for-4 performance at the plate. Creighton padded their lead with two runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh frame. The Huskers drop to 29-19 overall with their third straight loss. They host Minnesota in a three-game Big Ten series starting Friday.
