Huskers Play Final Home Series Against Gophers

The Husker baseball team wraps up the home portion of their Big Ten schedule with a three-game series against Minnesota that begins tonight. The Huskers are hoping to snap a three-game losing streak in tonight’s series opener against the Golden Gophers, who sit a game above them in the Big Ten standings. These two foes have already met once this season – Nebraska beat Minnesota 10-3 back on March 4 in a non-conference game at the Dairy Queen Classic in Minneapolis. Freshman lefty Kyle Kubat takes the mound to start the series, the second straight week he’s received that assignment. Husker coach Darin Erstad has not yet named his starting pitchers for the second and third games of the series. Nebraska currently stands seventh in the Big Ten. The top six teams are invited to the conference tournament. First pitch tonight at Hawks Field is set for 6:35.
