The Colorado Rockies’ freefall continues. The Rockies were swept at home by the lowly Seattle Mariners over the weekend, with Seattle taking a 6-4 victory in the finale on Sunday afternoon. Rockies starter Jeremy Guthrie gave up all six runs in his six innings of work, including five in the first three innings as the Rockies dug a deep hole early. Down by four runs in the ninth, the Rockies got a pinch-hit homer from Dexter Fowler and an RBI single from Carlos Gonzalez to get close and had the tying runs on base before Todd Helton struck out to end the rally and the game. The Rockies have lost four straight games and are now 4-14 for the month of May. They make their first visit to brand new Marlins Park in Miami for a three-game series starting tonight. ESPN Radio 1410 has the action, with pregame coverage at 5:30 and first pitch at 6:10.
