Jays Head West to Los Angeles for NCAA Baseball Regional

The 64-team field for the NCAA Division I baseball tournament was set yesterday, and the Cinderella run of the Creighton Blue Jays will continue in Los Angeles. The Blue Jays, surprise winners of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament, are the fourth seed in the UCLA region. They’ll match up with the Bruins, who are the number two national seed, in their tournament opener on Friday night. Creighton is making their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament, and their tenth appearance overall. They are one of two teams who qualified for the national tournament with a losing record. The Blue Jays entered their conference tournament as the eighth overall seed, but swept through with a 4-0 record, beating Missouri State in the championship game. Missouri State and Indiana State also qualified to the tournament from the Valley.
