Jamie Moyer, who became the oldest starting pitcher in baseball history to win a game this season, was designated for assignment by the Colorado Rockies yesterday. The 49 year-old lefty posted a 2-5 record and 5.70 ERA in 10 starts for the Rockies. The Rockies have 10 days to either trade Moyer to another interested team or lose him to free agency. Moyer says he’s not ready to retire despite his struggles, and hopes to get another opportunity elsewhere.
