Trailer Court Face Stabbing in Maxwell

MAXWELL- (Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office)  Deputies were summoned to a trailer court located at 302 Old Military Road, Maxwell, NE.    It was reported a male subject had been stabbed in the face.    Deputies and Maxwell Rescue responded to the scene and met with the male and a female; both were involved in physical assault on one another.

 

After extensive interviews with the both parties it was determined that the 45 year old male, Nelson C. Herman had choked his female girlfriend to the point she could not see or breathe.     Mr. Herman told the female that he was going to kill her, while she was being choked.    During the struggle, the female found a kitchen knife and did strike Mr. Herman in the face and leg; apparently to stop the attack.

 

Mr. Herman’s wounds were treated and he was released from Great Plains Regional Medical Center.   Mr. Herman was arrested and incarcerated in the Lincoln County Detention Center for: Felony Strangulation and Felony Domestic Assault.   The female victim was also transported to the Emergency Room for injuries to her neck.  This case remains under investigation.

Update:

On 6-3-12 Deputies continued to investigate this incident.   As a result of additional interviews and evidence collection, further charges were added to Mr. Herman.   Deputies discovered the knife used to cut Mr. Herman was also used to cut and threaten the victim prior to her gaining control of it.  Also the victim did attempt to escape the residence but Mr. Herman held her against her will.    Mr. Herman was charged with; Terroristic Threats, Felony False Imprisonment and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony.
