LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The director of Nebraska’s Roads Department has set his retirement date.

Fredrickson was appointed to the positions in July 2009 after he’d served 17 years as the department’s deputy director of engineering.A news release from the office of Gov. Dave Heineman says Monty Fredrickson will retire on Aug. 3. Fredrickson also is leaving his post as the state engineer.
