Police ID a man who died in crash

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Omaha police have identified a man who died when his vehicle crashed in a field earlier this month.

Police say 31-year-old Oscar Gaytan-Moreno, of Omaha, died in the accident on June 2. Police released his name on Wednesday, saying his next-of-kin had been notified.

Police say Gaytan-Moreno’s Jeep was parked on a city street. He put it the vehicle into reverse and backed up in a reckless manner. The Jeep went over the curb at an intersection and into the field. Gaytan-Moreno was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Police say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
