(Grand Island, Neb.)-NSP Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) Troop C –Grand Island arrested four impaired drivers during a weekend special enforcement effort in Hall County.

The special enforcement designed to reduce the potential for serious injury and fatality crashes was held in the evening hours on Saturday, June 9 and continued into the early morning hours on Sunday, June 10. During the effort NSP in conjunction with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DUI checkpoint along with high visibility patrols in and around Hall County.

In addition to the four drunken driving arrests, 15 citations and warnings were issued for speeding, four citations for driving under suspension and one for no proof of insurance.   Troopers had a total of 45 contacts with motorists during the enforcement effort paid for thanks in part to a $2,000 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
