SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) — Outdoor outfitter Cabela’s says the executive who oversees the company’s credit card and loyalty programs is preparing to retire.

But Cabela’s said Monday that Joseph Friebe will continue to work through 2014 to help with the transition.

Friebe had been serving as an executive vice president at the Sidney, Neb., based company. And Friebe was president and CEO of Cabela’s World’s Foremost Bank.

Cabela’s CEO Tommy Millner says the company’s Visa program has performed well under Friebe and helped the company grow.
