LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Three workers have been treated for minor injuries after a blast at Universal Cold Storage in southwest Lincoln.
The explosion occurred around 11:30 p.m. Monday in a high-pressure pasteurizing unit.
Authorities say the workers were knocked up to 15 feet and were hit by flying debris. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Lincoln Fire Battalion Chief Derald Murrell told the Local Media reports that “it sounds like they were pretty lucky.”
Murrell says the blast didn’t cause a fire or allow the release of any hazardous material.
