CWS: Sea Wolves Eliminated, Arizona Seizes Control of Pool Play

The clock struck midnight for the Stony Brook Sea Wolves yesterday afternoon on the third day of play at the College World Series in Omaha. The Sea Wolves were eliminated in a 12-2 loss to Florida State. The Seminoles scored six runs in the second inning, five of which came after a two-out error, and cruised to victory. In the nightcap at TD Ameritrade Park, Arizona put themselves in the drivers seat in their pool with a 4-0 triumph over UCLA. Konnor Wade went the distance for a five-hit shutout, and the Wildcats backed him with a four-run fourth inning to knock off the number two national seed. Tonight’s action will see another team’s stay in Omaha come to an end, as Kent State battles Florida in the elimination game at 4 PM. The winner’s bracket matchup pits two-time defending champion South Carolina against Arkansas at 8 PM.
