NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) — A 43-year-old North Platte woman has made a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of arson.
Court records say Royalene Hernandez pleaded guilty on Monday to attempted second-degree arson.
Local media in North Platte says her sentencing is scheduled for July 30.
Hernandez was arrested April 2 after firefighters were sent to her home to battle a carpet fire. Prosecutors say Hernandez started the fire so another resident would leave.
No injuries were reported.
Court records say Hernandez also is known as Royalene Hernandez-Cazares and as Royalene Beauvais.
