98 DEGREES IS RISING: Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre will regroup as98 Degrees and perform together at the Summer Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania on August 18. This will be the group’s first performance in almost seven years. However, the group is not getting back together for a full-fledged summer tour.
PINK TO DROP NEW SINGLE: Pink will drop, “Blow Me (Last Kiss)” on July 9. She announced the news in a video message. Pink said, “Hi, world! I’ve got an announcement to make. My new single, off my new record, off my new life, is called ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’ and it’s very exciting. And I wrote it with Greg Kurstin, who is amazing. And we had an incredible time.”
KEVIN COSTNER SUED BY ANGRY NEIGHBOR: Kevin Costner is being sued by his neighbor for refusing to trim his trees. Rick Grimm filed a lawsuit against his famous neighbor, claiming that Costner is blocking his beach view by planting too many trees around his property and refusing to cut the branches. Grimm wants the judge to enforce Costner to landscape — and is seeking at least $150,000 in damages for loss of enjoyment due to the excessive hedges, and wants $500,000 for damage to his property values.
MOLLY SIMS WELCOMES SON: Molly Sims is a mom. The actress/model welcomed her first son on Tuesday (June 19th). Sims, 39, tied the knot with Scott Stuber last September. This is their first child.
JIM CARREY DROPS OUT OF ‘DUMB AND DUMBER’ SEQUEL: Jim Carrey has reportedly derailed plans for a Dumb and Dumber sequel. Entertainment Tonight reported that Carrey has dropped out of the project — just months after it was confirmed. ET reported, “According to sources, Carrey grew increasingly frustrated by New Line and Warner Brothers, who he felt showed a lack of enthusiasm regarding the project.”
ANN CURRY GETTING REPLACED? NBC is reportedly looking to replace Ann Curry on the Today show. The New York Times reported that executives are on the hunt for a new co-host to sit next to Matt Lauer. Ratings for the morning show are down, and Curry has reportedly already had conversations with the executives about a different position. They reportedly want to make a change before the Summer Olympics begins in late July.
ASHTON KUTCHER SUES THE DMV: Ashton Kutcher is suing the DMV. The actor and his production company partner Jason Goldberg have filed suit against California’s Department of Motor Vehicles for allegedly backing out of a planned reality show based on its employees. The company, Katalyst Media, claims they are owed at least $1.44 million in damages for breach of contract. As for what we’re missing out on? The lawsuit states, “The series was conceived and designed to capture the variously humorous, emotional, dramatic, moving, humanizing and entertaining situations that arise on a daily basis at DMV’s more than 170 offices across the state of California.”
MELISSA JOAN HART WRITING MEMOIR: Melissa Joan Hart is publishing her memoirs. The actress will release Melissa Explains It All: Tales from My Abnormally Normal Life in the fall of 2013. The book will detail “a childhood split” between growing up in the suburbs and being a young star on Nickelodeon’sClarissa Explains It All and then ABC’s Sabrina, The Teenage Witch.
