PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) — Authorities in eastern Nebraska say fireworks may be the cause of two early-morning house fires.
Local media reports that crews were called at about 5 a.m. on Wednesday to a home in Papillion that was on fire.
The blaze caused significant damage to the outside of the home but was quickly brought under control. The residents got out safely after a boy in the home smelled smoke, saw flames and woke up his family members.
Crews had responded hours earlier to a fire that caused damage to one side of another home.
