Sheri Lee Jamison, 71, of Ashby, died July 13, 2012, at Brighton, Colo.
Sheri, one of twin girls, was born Jan. 20, 1941, at the Hoyt Ranch to Buddy and Barbara (Bump) Hoyt north of Whitman. She attended country school No. 151 through eighth grade. She then attended UNSA at Curtis for high school. She attended beauty school in Alliance from 1958-59.
She married her high school sweetheart, Beryle Jamison in Hot Springs, S.D., on Jan. 26, 1959. They worked at the Peterson Ranch south of Alliance and the Spade Ranch north of Ashby, finally moving to the family ranch north of Ashby where they presently resided. Born to this union were two children, a son Monte and a daughter Barbie.
Sheri loved being a ranch woman and was involved in every aspect of ranch life. She had a good eye for choosing horses and cattle and loved watching cattle and horse sales. She loved attending her children and grandchildren’s events in school, 4-H, team roping and rodeo, etc. She and Beryle enjoyed going to the stock show at Rapid City, NFR in Las Vegas and visiting with family and friends. She had accepted Christ as her savior and they attended a country church, Faith Lutheran, north of Hyannis and Pleasant Point Community Church south of Gordon. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Preceding her in death was her mother and father and mother-in-law and father-in-law.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Beryle; son, Monte (Lisa) and their children Savanna, Brook and B.J., all of Ashby; daughter, Barbie (Eric) Meyer and daughter Megan, of Lochbuie, Colo.; twin sister, Vicki Peden and special friend Roger Loibl, of Kearney; sisters, Becky Younkin, of Ainsworth, and Karen McGrinn, of Banning, Calif.; brother, Gary (Carolyn) Hoyt, of Mullen; brothers-in-law, Puzz, Bob (Helen), Dean (JoAnn) Jamison, Bud Smith and sister-in-law Shirley Smith, of Mitchell; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. (MDT), Wednesday, July 18, at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at Hyannis. Inurnment will be at the family ranch north of Ashby. Visitation will be at the church from 7:30 a.m. until time of service.
Memorials are suggested to Tri State Cowboy Museum, Grant County Fire & Rescue and Sandhills Lutheran Ministry. Mullen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
