Valerie Grace Coleman, 29, of North Platte, passed away July 20, 2012, at her home.
She was born March 14, 1983, in North Platte to James and Carol Vedder West. She graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 2000.
She worked at various jobs before she found the job she loved at the North Platte Opportunity Center. She loved the guys she worked for and enjoyed her job so much. On Feb. 10, she married Steven Coleman Jr., and became a wonderful second mom to Molly and Gage.
Valerie loved to read, especially Stephen King novels; watch stock car racing; and watch the TV show “House.” She also enjoyed scary movies and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Coleman Jr., of North Platte; children, Molly and Gage Coleman, of North Platte; parents, James and Carol West, of North Platte; sisters, Sheenan (Eric) Meacham and Carrie West, both of North Platte; brother, Jason West, of North Platte; Grandmother, Francis Vedder, of North Platte; mother- and father-in-law, Jennifer (Steven) Coleman Sr., of North Platte; sister-in-law, Kellie Coleman, of Minnesota; and a nephew Cyler Meacham of North Platte.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Delbert and Grace West; and Verlin Vedder.
A memorial has been established to the Bambino Baseball League or the North Platte Opportunity Center, and online condolences may be made at www.adamsswanson.com.
Services will be at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, July 25, at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
