Thelma A. Tyler, 91, of Mitchell, passed away July 21, 2012, at her home with family in attendance.
Thelma Annabelle Tyler was born on Feb. 11, 1921, to William and Celeste (Harvey) Adams at Gandy. She graduated from Sutherland High School May 20, 1940.
Thelma was a certified welder at the Kaiser Shipyards during World War II. Thelma was a licensed cosmetologist in Sutherland and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Thelma retired from Dale Electronics of Columbus in 1983.
Thelma married Robert O. Tyler on April 1, 1944, at Vancouver, Wash. Out of this union was a daughter, Donna Jean (LeRoy) Borchers, of Carrollton, Ga.; sons, Robert Curtis (Jennifer) Tyler, of Mitchell, and Joseph Stacy (Sherry) Tyler, of San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brothers, Sam, Bruce and Kyle Adams.
She is survived by her sister, Doris (Mickie) Hopping, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and sister-in-law, Elsie Adams, of Pomeroy, Wash.
Cremation has taken place and she will be interred with her husband Robert, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell.
