Rockies Ready for Visit From Cardinals (LISTEN LIVE TONIGHT on ESPN Radio 1410)

The Colorado Rockies may look different when they take the field tonight for the first in a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals in Denver. On trade deadline day, the Rockies have several players that might be moved as the team looks to rebuild. A 37-63 record has put the Rockies in dead last in the National League West. Their record is worse than all but one of the other 29 teams in the major leagues. In contrast, the defending World Series champion Cardinals are very much in the mix in the NL Central. They’re seven games back of Cincinnati and four and a half back of Pittsburgh, who leads the Wild Card race. The Rockies send southpaw Jeff Francis to the mound tonight. He’ll be opposed by St. Louis’ Kyle Lohse. ESPN Radio 1410 has the broadcast tonight, with pregame coverage at 7:05 and the first pitch at 7:40.
