Another town faces water restricitons

DAVENPORT, Neb. (AP) — A southern Nebraska natural resources district has banned lawn watering and car washing as the drought and high temperatures raise the demand for water.

Little Blue Natural Resources District says its Little Blue Public Water Project is in an emergency situation because the system pumps can’t keep up with demand and water towers can’t be filled.

The district says all nonessential water use should be curtailed.

The district website says its Little Blue Public Water Project serves more than 280 tower and business hookups in eastern Thayer County and west and central Jefferson County, including the villages of Gilead and Gladstone.

Water is bought from the city of Fairbury and is piped through 120 miles of buried lines.

Tuesday Sports Wrap – A-Rod Hurt, Allmendinger Suspended Indefinitely by NASCAR

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) – The Olympics are getting under way today, two days before the opening ceremony in London. The gold medal-favorite U.S. women’s soccer team opens group play against France in Glasgow, Scotland.

SEATTLE (AP) – Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez will be out of action for a while. A-Rod suffered a broken bone in his left hand last night when he got hit by a Felix Hernandez pitch in the eighth inning of New York’s 4-2 loss at Seattle.

NEW YORK (AP) – A person familiar with the situation tells the AP that the Miami Marlins are shipping former NL batting champion Hanley Ramirez to the L.A. Dodgers in a multi-player swap. The 28-year-old Ramirez is hitting .246 with 14 home runs and 47 RBIs.

UNDATED (AP) – The results are in and A.J. Allmendinger is out. The Penske Racing driver has been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR after his backup sample confirmed a violation of the organization’s substance-abuse policy.

11-year-old boy is serious about running away from home: ends up in Rome

By: Kris Allen

(Manchester, England) If this 11 year old doesn’t grow up to be a special ops agent, I will feel disappointment.

An 11 Year old decided to run-away, and he’s serious. Upon arriving to the airport he got through a security screen by chatting and making impressively convincing small talk with families.

Boarded the nearest flight, which just so happened to be a flight to Rome. While the plane was in mid-air he began to make other passengers suspicious, ultimately leading to being caught.

To add up all the point this kid racked up, he…

Made it to the Air Port

Passes a Security Screen..

Boarded a Jet

Dodged a head count

Made it to take-off

All without any documentation or paperwork.

So overall this is considered a security breech, and the Air-Port spokeswoman says they take all security breaches seriously, and the investigation is underway.

Hope there’s no 11 year old terrorist’s in the midst or we’re all in trouble…

But the boy is now back home safe with his parents.

Chad Everett dies

Chad Everett, who played a young, sensitive surgeon for seven seasons on the 1970s CBS drama Medical Center, died Tuesday of lung cancer at his home in Los Angeles. He was 75.

The blue-eyed, dark-haired Everett starred as Joe Gannon alongside veteran actor James Daly on the MGM Television series that aired from 1969-76, one of the longest-lasting medical shows in TV history at that time.

The Medical Center role earned the Indiana native Golden Globe nominations in 1971 (when the series captured the HFPA’s award for best TV drama) and 1973. He also owned 15 percent of the series.

During his 40-year career, Everett also played a deputy in the 1963 TV Western The Dakotas; starred as an outdoorsman who moves to San Francisco to fight crime in Hagen, a 1980 CBS drama; and appeared as an aging lothario who engages in a steamy audition with Naomi Watts in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive (2001).

Everett guest-starred on such TV series as Maverick77 Sunset StripHawaiian EyeThe Man From U.N.C.L.E.Murder, She WroteWithout a Trace and most recently on an episode of Castle that aired in February.

His film credits include Get Yourself a College Girl (1964), Made in Paris (1966) with Ann-MargretThe Singing Nun (1969) with Debbie ReynoldsThe Firechasers (1971), The Jigsaw Murders (1989) and Gus Van Sants remake of Psycho (1998).

Everett also was selected by the family of John Wayne to be the voice of the animatronic figure of the legendary actor in Disney MGM Studios’ Great Movie Ride in Orlando. He also recorded a couple of albums, including 1971’s All Strung Out, on which he covers “Ain’t No Sunshine.”

Everett was born in South Bend, Ind., and graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit before moving to Los Angeles and becoming a contract player with MGM. He famously battled and beat alcoholism in the 1980s.

He is survived by daughters Katherine and Shannon and six grandchildren. His wife of 45 years, actress Shelby Grant, died in June 2011.

This is what happens to pedophiles when dad finds you before the authorities do…

By: Kris Allen

(FLORIDA)-Thanks to this sick sun of a gun the ole phrase “Caught with you’re pants down” actually sounds fitting.

A father and two sons must have noticed their 13 year old daughter/sister was missing, because they went out looking for her, to find her in a vehicle with a Port St. Lucie man who didn’t have his pants on.

The two sons beat the crap out of him. The 18-year-old Christopher Torres was held down by the two sons, after his beating until authorities arrived. Though the 13 year old girl did tell authorities she lied about her age, she told Torres she was only 16, they had met earlier before when they had sex.

Torres charged with lascivious and lewd battery told authorities he had contacted the girl Via Facebook, followed by plans to meet at 2 AM.

This guy had what was coming to him. The pair were found around 3:45 am, Torres is now in jail in lieu of $5,000 bail

“Movin’ On Up”

Sherman Hemsley, the actor who made the irascible, bigoted George Jefferson of The Jeffersons one of television’s most memorable characters and a symbol for urban upward mobility, has died. He was 74.

Police in El Paso, Texas, said late Tuesday that Hemsley was found dead at his home on the eastside of the city. A statement from police says no foul play is suspected and that his exact cause of death is pending.

The Philadelphia-born Hemsley first played the blustering black Harlem businessman on CBS’s All in the Family before he was spun off onto The Jeffersons, which in 11 seasons from 1975 to 1985 became one of TV’s most successful comedies – particularly noteworthy with its mostly black cast.

With the gospel-style theme song of “Movin’ On Up,” the hit show depicted the wealthy former neighbors of Archie and Edith Bunker in Queens as they made their way on New York’s Upper East Side. Hemsley and the Jeffersons (Isabel Sanford played his wife) often dealt with contemporary issues of racism, but more frequently reveled in the TV comedy archetype of a short-tempered, opinionated patriarch trying, often unsuccessfully to control his family.

Hemsley’s feisty, diminutive father with an exaggerated strut was a kind of black corollary to Archie Bunker – a stubborn, high-strung man who had a deep dislike for whites (his favorite word for them was honkies). Yet unlike the blue-collar Bunker, played by Carroll O’Connor, he was a successful businessman whose was as rich as he was crass. His wife, Weezie, was often his foil – yet provided plenty of zingers as well.

Despite the character’s many faults – money-driven, prejudiced, temperamental, a boar – Hemsley managed to make the character endearing as well, part of the reason it stayed on the air for so long. Much like O’Connor’s portrayal of Archie Bunker, deep down, Hemsley’s Jefferson loved his family, his friends (even the ones he relentlessly teased) and had a good heart. His performance was Emmy and Golden Globe nominated.

Possibly your worst nightmare, spider infestation in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — An Omaha man says he’s been moving warily around his apartment, keeping watch for dangerous spiders that have moved in.

Dylan Baumann says that he’s been catching brown recluse spiders in his east-central Omaha apartment for four months.

Experts say the dangerously venomous brown recluse spiders aren’t aggressive, but their bites can result in painful wounds. Fatal bites to humans are extremely rare.

Dennis Ferraro, of the Douglas County Extension Office, says the higher number of spiders and bugs in general is likely due to a relatively mild winter and higher-than-normal summer temperatures.

Baumann says he plans to move out of the apartment in September. Until then he’s taking precautions such as shaking out his clothes and shoes before putting them on.
