Apartment fire overnight shatters living situation for apartment residents

Though some may say the rain we received last Wednesday night was a blessing, for the residents living in the house apartment building on 12th St and Poplar, it became a nightmare.

A structure fire lit the attic into a blaze of the apartment, a passing local called in the report of the fire at 11:30 last night.

The fire was contained  around 1:30 AM. The fire was located in hard to reach areas, the house suffers water damage, making the house unable to live in.

No one was home at the time, no injuries reported.

The house style apartment is separated to four floors with a living situation in the basement, ground level, upper level and the next up is the attic.

The cause of the fire is unknown but with the storm Wednesday night the suspected cause is lighting, though it  is not confirmed.
