Redemption is on the line for American Lolo Jones in the women’s 100 meter hurdles, one of the highest profile events in prime time tonight. Jones was the favorite in the event in Beijing in 2008 but hit one of the last hurdles and finished off the podium. She turned in the second-fastest first-round time yesterday and hopes to be able to go for gold today in London. Other track and field finals that will be shown in prime time are the men’s 1500 meters and the men’s high jump. The final gymnastics events are held today as well – the men’s high bar and parallel bars, and the women’s balance beam and floor exercise. Americans have medal chances in the women’s events – Jordyn Wieber competes on the floor, Gabby Douglas on the beam, and Aly Raisman in both events. USA women’s basketball and volleyball compete in quarterfinal matches today as well.
