Convicted sex offender fails to follow the rules…

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A 54-year-old Nebraska man has been given 30 months in federal prison for violating laws that require convicted sex offenders to register with local authorities.

A news release from the office of U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg says Eddie Hall, formerly of Rockport, Mo., must serve five years of supervised release after he leaves prison.

Prosecutors say Hall began working in Omaha in February 2011 but didn’t register with Nebraska authorities. He was arrested on Feb. 28 this year and later pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender.

He was convicted in Holt County, Neb., in 1995 of sexual assault of a child and convicted in Montgomery County, Iowa, in 2003 of indecent contact with a child.
