Kathryn (Katie) Leth


Kathryn (Katie) Leth passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Linden Court in North Platte. She was born August 8, 1924 in North Platte, where she lived her entire life. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1942. She worked for more than 45 years at General Adjustment Bureau in North Platte as a secretary and insurance adjustor. Katie had a passion for sports and music. She was very accomplished at golf, softball, and especially bowling. She was the winner of three state bowling championships and was president of the Nebraska state WBA from 1956 to 1966. In 1990 she was inducted into the Nebraska Bowling Hall of Fame. She was a dedicated fan and lifetime supporter of the Metropolitan Opera.
Katie was a dearly loved Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. You could always count on her for a smile, a witty quip, and a mint. She is survived by her sister Harriett and loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Anna (nee Bostwick) Leth, her brother Charles (Bud) Leth, and her lifetime friend Hazel Stenger.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the First
Evangelical Lutheran Church with Marcia Dorn A.I.M. officiating. A reception will follow at the same location. Inurnment will follow at North Platte Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Register book signing will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at Adams and Swanson which is in charge of arrangements.
