Mildred “Midge” Esther McIntosh, 99, of North Platte, passed away Aug. 17, 2012, at Linden Court.
She was born July 31, 1913, in Central City to August and Johanna Siercks Wagner. She attended Central City public schools and graduated from Central City High School with the Class of 1932.
She married Reuben McIntosh on Feb. 20, 1934. They were married 64 years before he passed in 1998. The couple lived in Grand Island before moving to North Platte in 1949. Reuben worked on the railroad, while Midge raised Gordon “Jerry,” and kept house. She worked for many years at Leo’s Flowers and Margie’s Pantry Shelf.
Midge enjoyed cooking, sewing and making quilts. She made the best homemade coconut cream pie. She always had a smile on her face and she loved being with her family.
She is survived by her son, Gordon “Jerry” (Dona) McIntosh, of North Platte; four grandchildren, Chris (Punky) Poff, of LaCenter, Wash., and Robert (Jo Ellen) McIntosh, Kim Sorrells and Ranelle Bailey, all of North Platte; nine great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 14 brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m., Monday, August 20, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
